A brief Mu-Tron history lesson..

Musitronics Corp. was founded in 1972 in Rosemont New Jersey, and operated until the sale of its Mu-Tron product line to A.R.P. in 1978. The original Mu-Tron products have since become collectors items.

This site provides information about Musitronics and the Mu-Tron products, as well as a forum for the free exchange of views and information between Mu-Tron enthusiasts.

This site is provided by Mike Beigel inventor of the original Mu-Tron III and principal developer of the Mu-Tron product line.

Mike presently operates Beigel Technology Corp. , Mu-FX and PenguinPix.com.

Mu-Tron III

The Mu-Tron III by Musitronics Corp. first came out in 1972. Since 1996 the Q-Tron, developed by Electro Harmonix, had been the successor to the legacy which is the Mu-Tron. In early 1995 Mike Beigel was commissioned by Mike Mathews (owner of EHX) to reinvent the sound of Mu-Tron, today EHX still sells that sound as the Q-Tron. In 2013 the Mu-FX Tru-Tron 3X, designed and produced by Mike Beigel, became the true official successor to the Mu-Tron legacy.
